The great thing about affiliate marketing? Once you have some killer content and traffic starts to steadily come in, you will finally, end up making money for watching your favourite films or whatever you get your kicks from.
1. Write a killer headline
The first thing you need to do is write a killer headline. When your blog post comes up in search engine results, more often, the reader will click on the link with the best headline.
At the end of the day, this is the first thing your readers are going to see before clicking through to your blogs.
Obviously after they click, you need to make sure your content and blog post is at its best it can be. This is the only way they are going to stick around and allow you to deliver a way to convince them to buy.
2. Write affiliate blog posts in a review format
Review posts can really do well if they are presented right. Often, people who are reading review posts have more or less made up there mind to buy this product or something similar.
You can literally write a review post on anything. Regardless what niche, you can provide blog posts on:
- Holiday Destinations
- Various Subscriptions
- The opportunities are endless at this stage
The best part about blog review posts, is that they are from an opinion. They have to be honest. Only encourage to sell products you believe in.
If people decided to buy a product you review. If unfortunately, that product is a poor recommendation from you. Tragically, this can break your trust and your reputation with that reader.
Its very important to only promote things you hold in high regard.
3. Write a collaboration post
These posts consist of a bunch of affiliate products in one affiliate blog post. These are a great way of providing multiple affiliate links at once in a post.
For example, you could have a Camping blog. You could write an affiliate collaboration post of the best “Camping Tents of the Year” or “Sleeping Bags to get you through the night”. Something along those lines. You can include affiliate links for every single one.
Be careful not to clutter up your blog posts with an alarming rate of affiliate links. Doing this, can put your readers off and misguide them away from purchasing through your blog.
4. Explain why your readers should buy
When you are writing any type of blog post. Above all, you need to explain to the reader exactly how your content is going to help your reader.
This is the same as affiliate blog posts. When writing your review posts or however you like to post. You need to explain to the reader why they need to buy this right now!
Your audience, is going to need to know exactly how they are going to be better off by purchasing your product.
Show them results by using the product or how much easier it made your life by having it.
Share your personal experience with them. After all, you should be promoting affiliate products that you have tried and tested. This is the most successful way of selling something.
This leads me onto my next tip.
5. Show proof in your affiliate blog posts
Sometimes, just talking about the product and saying how great it is. Just isn’t enough. Some people just need a little more convincing.
Adding some proof that you know the product can go along way. When the time comes to write an affiliate blog post, remember to include some pictures of you using the product.
Another example for you.
If you are are reviewing a gardening plant growing kit. May I suggest, showing the kit before use and showing it and your progress of the growing something several weeks after. Long process if you’re a gardening blog I know. However, that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t put in the effort and believe in the product you want to sell.
6. Ask your readers to buy the product
Take this step with a pinch of salt. By that I mean, don’t clutter up your blog post with BUY IT NOW or BUY THIS OR FAIL. This just doesn’t work. People simply just choose to turn off and leave the page immediately.
Instead, say it in another alternative way like: “Ready to learn more? Grab yours today!”
7. Its polite to disclose your affiliate
Its really important and polite to add a paragraph in your post disclosing that you are using affiliate links. Remind the reader that by buying through your website, you will earn a commission at no extra cost to them.
Sometimes, people may be more inclined to buy through your website to help you out. Take it as a thank you for supporting your content.
Lastly, some affiliates may have disclosure agreements. Its best to just disclose.
8. Be honest in your affiliate blog posts
Make sure to be truthful in all your reviews. Honesty really can go along way with your readers. After all, you are building a blog around trust right?
If you find any flaws, make sure to address them in the review.
Writing your affiliate blog posts with all this in mind will certainly convert more pageviews into conversions. Earning a passive income really doesn’t have to be hard.
