Have you been blogging a while and have no luck with traffic? Well, if you find ways to promote your blog posts. You will certainly see ways that will bring traffic to your blog posts.
Like the rest of us. Ideally, creating a killer blog post and having it finished gives you the urge to get it out there. What if nobody reads it? You put all that hard work in, just for you to appreciate it.
Just writing a blog post is not enough to gather traffic to your blog. Sure if its a unique article about some random subject. Eventually, it will rank in search engines. Most of you, will have to get out there and promote your blog posts.
In this guide, I am going to show you some of the ways I promote my blog posts. Some of these are very handy and efficient. If you follow these steps, you will be seeing a lot more traffic to your posts in no time.
1. Make sure you have quality content
This is the most important thing. You have to make sure you have a quality post before you spend so much time promoting your blog posts. You have to make sure your content is king here.
Your blog posts should contain information that can help your readers. Whatever you do, post content that is engaging. Don’t just churn out content just for a post. This will not help your blog in the long run.
As well as the usual how-to guides and top lists, try including some guest posters into your blog. This can help drive an audience to your blog if the poster has a following. It gives your blog a fresh voice from someone in your niche.
Remember, no matter how much time you spend promoting your blog, its going to be a waste of time if the quality isn’t there.
2. Build backlinks to your blog
Building organic quality traffic to your blog is an important aspect of growing a successful blog. If you’re looking to monetise your blog, this is extremely vital.
If you are looking to reach the first couple of pages on a search engine, you are going to need to build backlinks anyways. Having other websites that link to yours can provide a steady stream of readers to your blog.
There are many ways to build backlinks, a great way is guest posting and including a link to your blog or post in somebody else’s.
3. Promote your blog posts on social media
Billions of people on our planet now use social media. Why wouldn’t you use social media to promote your blog posts?
Creating pages and accounts especially for your blog can give your blog a more professional appearance.
I recommend focusing on no more than two different social media accounts. For example, keep to say Facebook and Twitter. Remember. A jack of all trades, is a master of none.
Being a presence of authority on two is better than being a nobody on every platform. Spend some time interacting with like minded bloggers. Join different communities and participate in conversations. These can drive people to check out your profile and find a link to your blog.
Which brings me onto my next one…
4.Network to promote your blog posts
You may have come a time in your blog where you have a fair amount of posts and a steady flow of traffic. As a blogger that wants to grow, this is never enough. Try spending an hour or so a week by seeking out other bloggers in your niche and reach out to them. Some will reply to you, some wont! This is ok though, the ones that reply back to you are the ones you want to speak to.
Engaging with them and becoming a familiar face around their blogs by commenting on their posts and answering questions that may ask you.
Leaving comments and reaching out can help you build a reputation as a serious blogger in your niche. Although this may seem like a small thing, keep reaching out to others to build a few backlinks is never going to hurt your SEO rankings.
5. Build an email subscriber list
Having an email subscriber list associated with your blog can do wonders for promoting your blog posts. Giving your readers free gifts and advertising a product you are just about to launch.
Building a database with readers that are interested in your content can massively have an impact on your blog traffic. The great thing is, that email subscriber list will have readers that are already interested in some of the content you are creating. Importantly, this is great because it already gives you a higher chance that people will come and read your new blog post.

6. Your Blog!
You already have your blog set up right!? Well, if your post is that great. Feature it on the main page of your website. Keep it in constant view of the visitor of your blog. Why not try and create an image link in your sidebar straight to that post?
Make sure you throw the post at your reader. They are certainly not going to go searching for a post that ultimately may not be there.
I hope these have helped you. I certainly make sure to do all these when I have a new blog post coming out. Promoting your blog posts is such an important thing and is just as important nearly as the content itself.
